Cloverfield

A group of friends get together to throw a “going-away” party for their friend Rob. In the middle of the party, there are explosions outside and soon they realize New York is under attack. What is this creature and can any of them survive?
As you can see from the poster, this time New York has been hit by something other than global warming ( hint : ‘day after tomorrow’ ) This monster-movie is certain to entertain you despite its lack of reason and logic brought about by our lead characters love interest!
Geee let’s see, for instance running towards the monster rather than away (experiencing powerful urges to slap the guy silly), looking blindly for a girl that may or may not be alive, climbing buildings that now look like the leaning tower of pisca, all leading to the most logical ending .. Rob and his friends getting fucked. Now coming to my all time favorite kill-your-friends-like-this scene, it would have to be the unnerving wild spiral down in the helicopter. It couldn’t get any more real ! But lets face it, if it wasn’t for our dear Hero’s shenanigans we would have never gotten to see the special effects up close
The movies uniqueness lies in the documentary type filming they have gone for. This is the first big production movie that was shot directly with a cheap Sony video recorder. Though it was irritating at times (thanks to all the shaking and running), it proves to be fruitful in its endeavour to leave you with a feeling of closeness towards the characters and their plight. Overall — a good watch.
Doomsday

The year is 2008, and a pandemic threatens to wipe out the whole of the human race. For many in the United Kingdom–the epicenter of the outbreak–the end is nigh, so why bother to keep count?
Getting tooo predictable. Same ol’ virus hits the town crap (Remember ‘28 days later’ and ‘Resident evil’ ??) The anti-dote needs to be found as the pandemic hits America, so our brave group of nasty looking 6-pack sporting soldiers set off on a mission to explore the now sealed area and hunt! Leading them to a wild carnivorous lot on the brink of war.
Of course, ending with the dudes dead and the tortured heroin bouncing back to save the day. Didn’t have as much blood and gore as there should have been, being a horror flick and all. No twist and turns here people, move along! Although the heroin’s decision at the end might come off as a little disturbing.
21

“21″ is the fact-based story about six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting and subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings.
Ben, our brilliant student finds himself stuck at a dead end job in a store, fighting his way to the top of the class and to his dreams of joining Harvard.
His quick grasp of concepts in math class leads the professor to offer him a post on their “black-jack” team. Ben at first reluctant, accepts the offer in the hope of winning the pretty Jill’s (Kate Bosworth) attention and $300,000 . Only to be cheated out of his money, a chance at Harvard and left brutally battered on the streets. Watch this guy come back with a vengeance. Witty and humorous. You figure Out the rest!
